Using Statuses and Labels
Learn how to customize your workflow with statuses and organize projects with labels. These features help you track progress and find projects quickly.
Understanding Statuses
Statuses represent the stage of your project in your workflow. Every project has exactly one status at a time.
Status Categories
Statuses belong to one of three categories:
- Backlog: Projects not yet started (ideas, sketches, received files)
- Active: Projects you’re currently working on
- Done: Completed or archived projects
Using Status Presets
Mixvisor includes presets for common workflows:
- Producer/Beatmaker: Idea → Arranging → Sound Design → Mixing → Bouncing → Released
- Artist/Songwriter: Sketch → Writing → Recording → Production → Mix Review → Released
- Mixing/Mastering Engineer: Received → In Queue → Mixing → Revisions → Mastering → Delivered
Creating Custom Statuses
- Go to Settings > Statuses
- Click Add Status
- Enter a name, choose a color and icon
- Select the category (Backlog, Active, or Done)
- Drag to reorder
Working with Labels
Labels let you tag projects with multiple categories. Unlike statuses, a project can have many labels.
Common Label Uses
- Genre: Hip-Hop, Electronic, Ambient, etc.
- Client/Artist: Tag who the project is for
- Release Type: Single, EP, Album, Demo
- Project Type: Original, Remix, Collab
Creating Labels
- Go to Settings > Labels
- Click Add Label
- Name it, pick a color and optional icon
- Optionally assign to a label group
Filtering by Labels
In your project library, use the filter dropdown to show only projects with specific labels. Combine with status filters for powerful queries like “all Hip-Hop projects in Mixing stage.”
