How to use
Play the song you want to measure. Tap the button or press your spacebar in time with the beat — the kick drum or snare is usually the easiest to follow.
After 3+ taps, the BPM reading will stabilise. More taps give a more accurate reading. The display resets automatically after 3 seconds of inactivity.

Why BPM matters
Knowing the exact BPM of a track is essential for beatmatching when DJing, syncing samples to a session, or matching the tempo of a reference track. Most DAWs display the project BPM, but when you're working with audio from outside your session — a sample from a record, a reference track, or a live recording — a tap tempo tool is the fastest way to find it.
For managing your projects and their tempos across multiple DAWs, try Mixvisor — it scans and organizes your entire project library automatically.
